I thought it would be fun if I took a moment each month to let you know what things are currently striking my fancy, so here goes the April installment! Current favorites:
Book: I read the BFG by Roald Dahl, which I never read as a kid, and it was delightful! I have also been reading Grace for the Good Girl by Emily P. Freeman and Nothing to Prove by Jennie Allen. Both of those have been SO GOOD! I knew they would be, but I have thoroughly enjoyed them and the little nuggets of wisdom I've been gleaning from them. I highly recommend them both!
Food: I made some delicious roasted cauliflower and broccoli bowls with delicious barbecue sauce, inspired by Pumpkin and Peanut Butter's Spicy Cauliflower Power Bowl. So good! I also made and couldn't get enough of some Avocado Pasta with Asparagus and Peas from Erin at Well Plated.
Quote: "Ours is not the task of fixing the entire world all at once, but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within our reach. Any small thing that one soul can do to help another soul, to assist some portion of this poor suffering world, will help immensely." -Clarissa Pinkola Estes.
TV Show: I just started re-watching One Tree Hill, and it's just as good as I remembered. Of course, it's full of high school drama, but it's so nostalgic for me that I don't care. My friends and I just returned from a trip to North Carolina, and we took an extra little trip out to see some of the iconic spots from the show, which just makes it that much more fun to watch.
Song: "God, Your Mama, and Me" by Florida Georgia Line. My friends and I listened to a lot of their music on our trip last week, and between that and how much I've heard it on the radio, I've hardly been able to get it out of my head. It's just so catchy and so sweet!
Memory from this month: I just got back from a road trip to North Carolina with my friends, and it was a blast! I can't wait to go back, even though I don't know yet when that will be. We had a great time reconnecting with our "second family" down there, visiting with their extended family (most of whom we hadn't met before, but all of whom we loved), eating all the food, hiking, walking through cute little towns, visiting the beach and One Tree Hill spots, and trying new things.
Looking forward to next month: My book is going to launch soon, you guys! I'm shooting for the end of May, so that's really exciting (and also terrifying)!
Now it's your turn. What are some of your favorite things? I'd love to hear them!
